Annual Parish Feast Celebrated with Devotion and Fervor in St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle, 05 Jan 2022: The Annual Parish Feast of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle was celebrated on Wednesday, 5 January 2021 at 10.30 am with devotion and fervor.

 

The proceedings of the Annual Parish Feast commenced with the distribution of Candles of Honour at 10.00 am. While the Secretary of the Parish Pastoral Council Charles Quadros read the names of the donors and sponsors, Fr. George D’Souza, Parish Priest of the church distributed the candles.

 

The solemn feast mass started at 10.30 am. Fr. Melwyn Roy Lobo, native of Moodubelle was the chief celebrant assisted by Fr. George D’Souza and other  priests from Udupi Deanery.

 

In his homily, elaborating the theme of the Annual Feast “Let us help each other and build  the parish community”, Fr. Melwyn Roy Lobo through various personal examples and from the readings from the scriptures stressed upon the role that each and every individual can play in building a community based on service and looking after the needs of the poor and marginalized.

 

 

At the end of the solemn feast mass, Fr. George D’Souza conveyed the greetings of the feast to all parishioners and expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the Annual Parish Feast.

 

Fr. Charles Menezes, a native of Moodubelle and presently the Parish Priest of Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi and Dean of Udupi Deanery extended the greetings of the annual parish feast to Fr. George D’Souza, Fr. Cyril Lobo and all the parishioners of Moodubelle.

 

The choir, well trained by Fr. Cyril Lobo enhanced the festive atmosphere by their melodious singing.
