Qatar: Indian Cultural Center organizes Blood Camp to mark 75th Independence Day

Doha/Qatar, 23 Aug 2021: As part of Indian @ 75, ‘Azaadi ka Amrith Mahotsav.’ (75 years India Independence Celebrations) on Aug 13,2021 from 7.30am to 6.00pm at Ashoka Hall, Indian Cultural Center (ICC) with the support from Hamad Medical Corporation, organized ICC Blood Donation camp with participation of over 590 donors.
After screening and health check, blood was drawn from 496 donors. Initial registration done was approximate 780. With many spot registrations, the entire camp was successfully managed with a seamless process from point of registration to health check clearance, blood drawing, and issuance of appreciation certificate with a medal.
The blood donation camp was inaugurated by Dr Deepak Mittal, Ambassador of India.
The inauguration was also attended by HE Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Al Thani, director of public health department. Xavier Dhanraj, 1st secretary and coordinating office for ICC from the Embassy of India graced the function.
Dr Sharon Jacob from Hamad Blood donor center, Iqbal Abdullah from Naseem medical who are sponsors of the event was also present.
Several volunteers and over 40 members team managed the blood collection.
ICC presented a souvenir, a memento as a token of appreciation to Hamad Blood Donor Center.
Krishna Kumar, general secretary steered the inaugural ceremony and Subramanya Hebbagelu, vice president proposed a vote of thanks.
The entire Blood donation camp was conceptualized and well-executed by ICC Management Committee under the leadership of P N Babu Rajan.
