Qatar: Indian Cultural Centre bids adieu to longtime resident Habibun Nabi

Doha/Qatar, 09 Sep 2020: The president and managing committee of Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) bid farewell to Mohammad Habibun Nabi a longtime resident of Qatar who is leaving to his hometown Aligarh this week. He has been in Qatar for 24 years and a total 42 years in the Gulf including Iraq, Sultanate of Oman and Qatar.

 

S Xavier Dhanaraj, first secretary (consular and community affairs) and the coordinating officer of ICC was the chief guest of the occasion.

 

Xavier thanked Habibun Nabi for his excellent contributions to the Indian Community in Qatar and later presented him with a Plaque of Appreciation.

 

 

All the managing committee members of Indian Cultural Centre were present.

 

Mohammad Habibun Nabi was working as an engineer with Kahramaa during his term in Qatar. Habibun Nabi currently was general secretary of the Indian Sports Centre, since last 4 years, an Apex body under the aegis of Embassy of India. He is an active and ardent supporter of all the Apex Bodies of Embassy of India, have supported, and contributed a lot of time and efforts for ICC and Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF). He held the position of General Secretary of Indian Cultural Centre in 2008 and served as a Head of Sports in 2006. He is a sports lover and loves to work for Community, especially under the privileged section, he has also worked for promoting socio cultural activities, which brings the community together and spreads a healthy message in the society.

 

Habibun Nabi expressed his gratitude to the Indian Ambassador, Embassy of India officers and staff, managing committee of ICC and the Indian Community in general for their continuous support, motivation and appreciation of all his community activities and efforts.

 

ICC president Manikantan A P, in his welcome note, recollected the enormous contribution of Habibun Nabi to the Indian community in Qatar.
