St. John Academy Shankerpura Annual Sports Event 2019 concludes with thrilling events

Udupi, 02 Dec: The annual sports event at St. John’s Educational Institutions that had begun on 27th November 2019 were concluded with thrilling relay races on the 29th November 2019.
All the students of St. John’s Educational Institutions took active part in all types of sports during the three day sporting event and concluded with the thrilling relay races on Final Day. Even the teachers took part in the most exiting relay race prior to conclusions. The three day sports event was well organized by Domian Noronha, Diwakar Shenoy and Sadashiva Achari (Teachers – Physical Education Dept.) equally supported by all teaching staff.
The first sports day 27th November began with Flag Hoisting ceremony for which all Educational Institutions of St. John Academy; St. John Higher Primary School, St. John High School (English/Kannada) and St. John PU College were present. The beautiful ceremony began with March Past by all the three institutions from Primary to PU College with the beats of St. John School band.
All the squad leaders marched to the School stage holding their squad flags wherein Rev. Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves (Correspondent) received the salute from the squad leaders. It was an impressive display and treat to watch the students performing their role so systematically holding the flag high.
Once all the classes were assembled at their respective placed designated systematically, the sports event was officially inaugurated with flag hoisting by Mr. Mark Vas (VP Parish Council) and Lightening the lamp was done by Fr. Ferdinand Gonsalves accompanied Ms. Seema D’Souza (Donor - sports event), Ms. Clara Mendonsa (Secretary, Parish Council), Ms. Priya D’Sa (Principal, PU College), Mr. Ashwin D’Souza (HM, Kannada Medium), Sr. Juliana Lasrado (HM. St. John’s Academy) Ms. Irine D’Souza (HM, Primary-Kannada Medium) and Mr. John Rodrigues (President, PTA-PUC).
The day long sports event began at about 10pm with the colourful balloons releasing in the sky.
The Annual School Day will be held on 4th and 5th December wherein all the winners will be given away with prizes.
