Second Kaup Taluk level Kannada Sahitya Sammelana to be held in Moodubelle on 17 December

Kaup/M’Belle, 25 Nov: Since the inception of the new Taluk of Kaup, the second Kaup Taluk level Kannada Sahitya Sammelana will be held in St. Lawrence Community Hall, Moodubelle on 17 December 2019. The first Kaup Taluk level Kannada Sahitya Sammelana was held at Kuthyar near Shirva last year.
In view of holding the second Kaup Taluk level Kannada Sahitya Sammelana in Moodubelle, the office to manage the activities associated with the sammelana was inaugurated in the extended building of Belle Grama Panchayat, Moodubelle on Monday, 25 November 2019 at 5 pm. The office was inaugurated by Lalaji R. Mendon, MLA of Kaup Constituency along with Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle and other dignitaries by lighting the lamp.
In his introductory remarks, Pundalik Marathe, President of Kaup Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishad said that the first sammelan at Kuhtyar was presided over by Muuddu Moodubelle, a renowned literary and radio personality and the sammelana was inaugurated by another great personality of Moodubelle Dr. B.M. Hegde. Hence, it was felt that the second sammelana should be held in Moodubelle being the home village of the great Dvaita Philosopher of 12th century and founder of the Eight Mattas, Shri Madhwacharya. Besides, another great world renowned artistic personality K.K. Hebbar also hailed from Moodubelle. He appreciated the generous gesture of Fr. Clement Mascarenhas for providing the air-conditioned St. Lawrence Community Hall free of charge for hosting this great sammelana.
In his message, Lalaji R. Mendon traced the formation of Kaup Taluk and progress of various activities including the Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, the second of which will be held in Moodubelle. He assured full support to the sammelana and wished success to the organizers.
Fr. Clement Mascarenhas speaking at this occasion said that languages do not have any caste or creed and every language is beautiful. He further said that he had studied Kannada right from his first standard to graduation where he had taken Kannada as the major subject. He expressed happiness to provide the community hall for hosting the sammelana and considered it as a privilege to the entire Moodubelle village.
The Second Kaup Taluk Level Kannada Sahitya Sammelana office inauguration function was attended by Mrs. Ranjani Hegde-President of Belle Grama Panchayat, Harish Shetty-Vice President, Mrs. Sujatha Suvarna-Uudpi Taluk Panchayat member, Muddu Moodubelle-President of First Kaup Taluk Level Kannada Sahitya Sammelana at Kuthyar, Subramanya Shetty-Udupi District Kannada Sahitya Parishad Secretary, Devaraya Shanbhag-Principal of St. Lawrence PU College, Moodubelle, Devdas Hebbar-Executive President of Second Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, Ashwin Lawrence-Secretary and others.
Pundalika Marate welcomed the guests, Shivaji Suvarna proposed the vote of thanks and Devdas Hebbar compeered the programme.
