Udupi: Adani Foundation unveils CSR development works @ Rs 30 lac in Bada GP

Udupi, 24 Sep: Adani owned Udupi Power Corporation Limited (UPCL), which is having power plant at Yellur village in Udupi district, under the banner of Adani Foundation, a CSR wing of Adani Group, inaugurated village development works in the villages of Bada gram panchayat, here on Sunday, September 22.
Six Village Development works - Construction of Compound Wall and Interlocking facility for Anganawadi Centre in Mullagudde, Ward No 3; Concreting of Subhas Road of 90 meters length; Concreting of Mahalakshmi Road of 175 meters length; Concreting of Sri Mahalingeshwara Temple Road in ward number 1; Concreting of Polya Road of 120 meters length; Concreting of road YermalJanardhana Temple West Side Road of length 110 meters were executed by UPCL through Adani Foundation at a total project cost of Rs 30.50 lac and were inaugurated by Kishore Alva, president and executive of Adani UPCL and Sharmila Salian, president of Bada gram panchayat and unveiled for the villagers usage.
Speaking on the occasion, Alva informed that UPCL has earmarked a special package of Rs 2.77 crore for executing community infrastructure development works in Bada gram panchayat for a period of 3 years. He said that the company has completed the development works worth Rs 74 lakc in the villages of Bada GP under its CSR and the works worth Rs 22.50 lac are in progress. He also informed that UPCL is taking-up the execution of community infrastructure development activities based on the Action Plan prepared by gram panchayat.
Later Sharmila Salian spoke and appreciated the social responsibility initiatives of Adani UPCL and thanked for its contribution for the village development works, benefitting the rural people.
Indira Shetty, vice president of Bada gram panchayat, Sheikabba, taluk panchayat member, Chandrashekar, Vasanth, Shakuntala, Somanath Poojary and Mohini Suvarna, members of Bada gram panchayat, Adani UPCL’s assistant general manager Girish Navada and senior manager Ravi R Jere were present on the occasion.
