Udupi/Shirva: Don Bosco CBSE School Scouts and Guides Students Experience Agricultural Activities

Udupi/Shirva, 27 Jul: In an age when the school going children, especially from townships have lost touch with agricultural activities, Scouts and Guides students from Don Bosco CBSE School, Shirva were provided a unique opportunity to have such an experience at the agricultural field of Vijay Dheeraj D’Souza of Heroor Village near Bantakal on Saturday, 27 July 2019. The students were accompanied by Fr. Mahesh D’Souza-Principal of the school and other teachers.
Vijay Dheeraj D’Souza gave full information about the agricultural activities, especially the method and process of rice cultivation. He made an appeal to the students to keep alive the spirit of agriculture and respect the farmers.
Besides Fr. Mahesh D’Souza other guests at the project included Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MLA of Kaup Constituency and Fr. Henry Mascarenhas, Parish Priest of the Holy cross Church, Pamboor.

A large number of villagers also witnessed the students having agricultural experience and guided them in the transplantation of the paddy saplings.
The Scouts and Guides students enjoyed the village atmosphere, played in the water stream and even held live chicken in their hands.
Students were quite happy and pleased with their experience in the paddy fields and had breakfast and lunch prepared by the villagers.

Great initiative Diraj,younger generation should know how we grew up working in the field and earning our daily food.outstanding efforts to make it happen.I can see children’s are enjoying that will remain their mind life time what is the difficulties to grow the rice and they remember each time they take the food .God bless you . |
