Udupi: Weeklong Alcohol De-addiction Camp inaugurated at Lions Seva Bhavan, Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle: Weeklong alcohol de-addiction camp was inaugurated at Lions Seva Bhavan, Mooddubelle on Tuesday, 2 July 2019 at 11 am. The de-addiction camp was formally inaugurated by Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle by lighting the lamp along with other dignitaries on the dais including Mrs. Sujatha Suvarana-membeer of Udupi Taluk Panchayat and President of De-addiction Managing Committee, Moodubelle who presided over theianugural function, Ganesh B-Director of SKDGProgramme, Udupi District, Achyutha Poojari-President of Janajagruti Vedike, Udupi Taluk, Mrs. Geeta Wagle-Udupi Taluk Panchayat member, Shirva, Ln. Ivan D’Almeida-President of Lions Club, Moodubelle, K.R. Patkar-member of Shirva Grama Pnachayat , Devdas Hebbar-Honorary President of De-addition Managing Committee, Moodubelle and Mrs. Ranjani Hegde-President of Belle Grama Panchayat.
The weeklong alcohol de-addiction camp is jointly organized by Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Village Development Programme, Udupi Taluk, All India Jana Jagruti Vedike, K.S. Hegde Hospital, Derlakatte, Mangalore, Grama Panchayat, Moodubelle, Lions Club, Moodubelle and other organizations.
The present de-addiction camp is 1356th in the long series of de-addiction camps conducted under the auspices of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Village Development Programme.
In his inaugural speech, Fr. Clement Mascarenhas said that addiction is like decease which not only harms the addicted individual but also brings misery and suffering to the entire family. He appreciated the efforts made by various organizations in organizing the weeklong de-addiction camp in Moodubelle and made an appeal to addicts to make good use of the camp and lead a healthy and happy life.
Being a residential camp, the programme daily commences at 5 am and ends at 9.30 pm. There are various activities and exercises and motivational lectures arranged for the entire week.
The valedictory function will be held on Tuesday, 9 July 2019 at 12 noon.
