Mangaluru: A V Ramana appointed new chairman of NMPT

Mangaluru, 12 Jun: A V Ramana has been appointed as the new chairman of New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT). The appointment was made by the ministry of shipping of the union government. Till now he was functioning as the deputy chairman of Cochin Port Trust and acting chairman.
Ramana took over from the outgoing chairperson, Dr M Beena, on June 11.
Ramana is backed by the experience of having worked in different positions in the department of ports including that of chief mechanical and electrical engineer of Kolkata port.
