Mumbai: Another Pentecost in Mira Road

Mumbai, 16 February 2010: People of St. Joseph’s Church, Mira Road witnessed another Pentecost on Sunday 14th Feb 2010. It was the day of confirmation in the parish. The solemn Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by His Lordship Rev. Bishop Bosco Penha in which 10 priests concelebrated. During the homily he emphasized the aspect of the importance of having an open attitude towards life which benefits the person to grow internally as well as externally at the same time also cures us from various sicknesses. Further he mentioned that an adult Christian should spend at least half an hour in silent prayer which will help to come closer to God. Later he administered the sacrament of Confirmation.

On this auspicious day nearly 175 youth were marked with the sacrament of Confirmation. During the mass Bishop, Priests as well as people prayed for the Holy Spirit to empower all the confirmands with the Gifts so that they may be able to spread the fruits of these Gifts to all around them and bear witness to their Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds.

Rev. Fr. Dominic Vas OCD, Parish Priest at the end thanked everyone especially Mr. Clifford Faria and his team and congratulated them for their efforts.
