Qatar: Indian renowned Bharatanatyam artiste Veena C Seshadri mesmerizes expat community

Doha/Qatar, 06 Apr: Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) under the aegis of Embassy of India hosted a powerful performance by eminent artiste from India - Veena C Seshadri, a Bharatanatyam dancer.
She is one of the leading dancers in Bharatanatyam of her generation. She has been trained from the Kalakshetra College of Fine Arts, Chennai. As an A Graded artist from Doordarshan, an empanelled artiste of ICCR, enlisted in FOI cell, ministry of culture, government of India and also a member of CID UNESCO, CCRT, and Zonal Cultural Centers.
ICC president Manikantan A P welcomed the artist and applauded her commitment to spread the art form among the expatriate community in Qatar.
He also said that it is ICC’s stated objective to promote Indian culture and rich traditions among the expatriate and local community in Qatar.
ICC cultural coordinator Nirmala Shanmugapadian introduced the artiste and ICC general secretary Seenu Pillai and joint secretary Anjan Kumar Ganguli conducted the proceedings.
ICC head of cultural activities and education Dr Nayana Wagh proposed the vote of thanks.
In her acknowledgement address, Veena appreciated and thanked ICC for providing such a platform for her to perform. The performance was appreciated by community members.
