Udupi: AIDS victims need empathy to live on – Shanthi Noronha

Udupi, 03 Apr: AIDS is an epidemic of 21st century that threatens the victims to live with it despite prolonged treatment. The youth who disregard safe sex are the major victims. Meanwhile, if the youth are sensitized in this issue; they can be responsible in their life, said Deep Jyoti Foundation project co-ordinator Shanthi Noronha.
Shanthi Noronha was speaking during AIDS awareness programme that was organized by Red Ribbon Club of St Mary’s College, Shirva, near here, on Tuesday, April 2.
She urged the gathering, to be empathetic to the victims by shunning them altogether, instead love and trust would help them to minimize their agony.
The College principal Prof Rajan V N presided the programme.
The Club co-ordinator Prof Chairmen Fernandes welcomed the gathering and delivered the preliminary address.
Essay and quiz was held for the students.
