Udupi/M’Belle: Tenth Std. students of St. Lawrence Kannada Medium HS given warm send off

Udupi/M’Belle, 09 Mar: Tenth standard students of St. Lawrence Kannada Medium High School, Moodubelle who will be appearing for the SSLC examination from 21 March 2019 were given warm send off during a function held on Saturday, 9 March 2019 at 10.30 am in St. Lawrence PU College Hall. On this occasion all those who had supported the educational activities of the school through financial and material support were also honoured.
The programme commenced with a short prayer service conducted by Mrs. Sunitha Kamath, Headmistress of the school along with Correspondent Fr. Clement Mascarenahs and a group of students.
The send off programme was presided over by Fr. Clement Mascarenahs. Other dignitaries on the dais included: Niranjan Rao as chief guest, Naveen Correa-Principal of St. Lawrence PU College, Gerald Fernandes-President of PTA, Gilber Sequeira-Vice President of PTA, Maxim D’Sa-President of Old Students Association and Gracian Sequeira-SPL.
Following the welcome address by John Castelino, two of the ninth standard students-Vaishnavi and Sachin expressed their feelings towards the outgoing students of tenth standard and wished them well in their forthcoming examinations.
The top scorers of the tenth standard Catechism and Value Education Examinations conducted by the Udupi Diocese – Anisha Castelino and Deepthi were given merit certificates on this occasion.
On behalf of the outgoing tenth standard students-Gracian Sequeira, Sridevi and Varadaraj narrated their experiences in the school during the last three years and expressed gratitude to all the teachers for their teaching and guidance.
As token of gratitude, the students handed over Rs.15,100/- towards one month’s salary to the honorary teacher for the year 2019-20.
The sponsors of the salary of honorary teachers, financial and material donors were honoured by Fr. Clement Mascarenahs as mark of gratitude for their unstinted support to the cause of education of the students.
The honorary teacher Ms. Jezel D’Souza who will be leaving the school for better prospects was honoured by Fr. Clement Mascarenhas.
P.D. Kamath-retired teacher of the institution, chief guest Niranjan Rao and Gerald Fernandes, in their speeches wished the students well in their SSLC examinations.
In his presidential message, Fr. Clement Mascarenhas congratulated Mrs. Sunitha Kamath for her leadership and organizing such a relevant function during which the well-wishers and donors were honoured. He also adviced the students to do well in the examinations and uphold the name of the institution.
Valerian Crasta propose the vote of thanks and Sudhir Naik compeered the programme.
