Former PM of India H D Deve Gowda honored by KNRI UAE

Dubai, 12 Nov: Former prime minister of India and National President of Janata Dal (Secular) H D Deve Gowda honored behalf of all kannadigas residing in UAE by Karnataka NRI Forum UAE on November 11th 2018 at JSS Scholl Al Safa Dubai.

 

JDS national secretory general Danish Ali, JDS leader and Dubai based entrepreneur Zafrulla Khan Mandya, Dr Arathi Krishna, former vice president of NRI Forum – Karnataka State Govt, president of KNRI UAE Praveen Shetty and general secretory of KNRI UAE Prabhakar Ambalthere were guest of honors of the event.

 

The event started with lightening traditional lamp by guests. Prabhakar Ambalthere welcomed the guests and gathering with flower bouquets. He stated the realistic problems faced by NRI’s and requested to support Karnataka NRIs with benefits as NRI’s of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh are benefited by their governments.

 

Praveen Shetty in his introductory speech explained the problems faced by blue collared people of Karnataka in UAE. He mentioned the Amnesty – a drive of UAE govt to expatriates to return home who doesn’t have residential documents. Karnataka have 2nd highest number of NRIs in UAE from India but the support received from Karnataka govt is not up to the mark that NRIs benefited. He urged Deve Gowda to convince state govt to extend their support to Karnataka NRIs of UAE.

 

 

Danish Ali, Zafrulla Khan Mandya and Dr Arathi Krishna expressed their happiness for first ever gulf tour of H D Deve Gowda and remembered his political qualities and administrational decisions he made of India and state of Karnataka.

 

H D Deve Gowda honored by KNRI UAE with shawl, flower bouqet, fruit basket and memento. All members of KNRI Forum UAE under the leadership of President Praveen Shetty honored former prime minister of India H D Deve Gowda.

 

After receiving the honor, H D Deve Gowda expressed his happiness to receive this honor from UAE Kannadigas. He said in his any tenure as Prime minister or chief minister he never planned to travel outside of India as the problems faced by people within country were his priority. He remembered the journey of his political career and said the spirit of fighting for people to give them justice and rights is not reduced. He acknowledged the efforts of NRIs to build India and assured his contribution with government of Karnataka to get all benefits demanded by KNRI Forum UAE.

 

More than 50 different Karnataka based association leaders were present at gathering. They honored H D Deve Gowda with flowers and mementos. Talented local singers presented beautiful Kannada patriotic and other songs before the event. KNRI member Shashidhar Nagarajappa comrered the program.
