Fr Maxim Noronha takes charge as Vicar General of Mangaluru diocese

Mangaluru, 26 Sep 2018: Fr Maxim Lawrence Noronha took charge as the new Vicar General of the diocese of Mangaluru on Wednesday, September 26 in a short ceremony held at Bishop’s House. Dr Peter Paul Saldanha installed the new Vicar General in the presence of priests and other officials in the the bishop chapel.
Fr Maxim, son of Albert Noronha and Florine Noronha, hails from Pamboor (Bantakal) parish in Udupi Diocese. He was ordained on October 10, 1989 for the diocese of Mangaluru.
He served as the assistant priest in Bhalki and Jalasangi (Bidar), Pangla (Shankarapura) and Bendore parishes. In 1994, he was appointed as the parish priest of Piusnagar where he served for seven years. He was the parish priest at Ferar parish for seven years. In 2008 he was appointed as the procurator (Financial Administrator) of Mangaluru diocese for five years. In 2013, he was appointed as the parish priest of Modankap parish and dean of Bantwal deanery.
