ICYM Pangla organizes Unique Sports Event on Monti-Fest

Udupi, 10 Aug 2018: On the occasion of Monti Fest Celebration the parishioners of Pangla gather at the school grounds for a sport event which is held traditionally since 1950s.  This year ICYM organized this special sports event wherein young and old take part in tract as well as fun-filled games such as Bombing the City and Hitting the pot.

 

Prior to that a months preparation goes behind the successful sports events starting with singing, fancy dress competition and sports events such as throwball, cricket matches ward wise.  The final day includes on track events such as race/one leg race from LKG to 25 years plus above and shotput, slow-cycle race etc..

 

The more exiting events of the day are Tug-of-war and Hitting the pot (Modki putovnchi).. These are thrilling games wherein everyone engrosses fully in the event and tough fight held between the ward teams.

 

 

All the points accumulated by ward units finally put together of the all the events and two winners will be declared.

 

this year St. John’s Ward bagged First prize followed by St. Antony Ward.

 

The prize distribution ceremony was held at the end of the event.  Fr. Ferdinand Gonsavles (Parish Priest) and Mark Vaz (VP Parish Council) distributed the prizes to the winners.

 

The event began at 2:30pm and ended at 7:30pm.
