Udupi: Youth have ample opportunities in media – Prof Rajan

Udupi, 17 Jul 2018: Kaup taluk working journalists Association in collaboration with Rotary Club – Shirva, NSS/Rangers/Rovers units of St Mary’s College, Shirva, near here, organized workshop on journalism to mass communication students at the College auditorium, on Saturday, July 14.
The College principal Professor Rajan V N after inaugurating the workshop said, ‘Media has become an effective medium in this hi-tech world that has opened up ample opportunities for youth communities.’
The senior journalists Rahim Ujire and Srikant Shetty were the resource persons, highlighted the need to be honest with social responsibility to become a successful journo whom the society admires.
The veteran journalist K L Kundantaya and veteran daily newspaper distributor Sadashiv Shetty Kalattoor were honored on the same occasion.
Rotary Club – Shirva president Dayanand Shetty Dendoor, Kaup Press Club founder president Ramachandra Achar, treasurer Santosh Kaup, student welfare Committee director Professor Vittal Nayak, Professor N Kumari, Professor Prakash and Professor Yashodha were present.
Kaup taluk working journalists Association president Prakash Suvarna Katpady welcomed the gathering. B Pundalika Marate delivered the preliminary address. The general secretary Karunakar Nayak proposed vote of thanks.
