Udupi: Tillers distributed to the Farmers

Udupi, 04 May 2011: Distribution program of Tillers costing rupees 50,000 to the deserving Farmers on 50% subsidiary price under Krishi Vikasa Project 2010 – 11 were conducted at the offices of Deputy Director of Agriculture on Monday. The program was presided over by Jilla Panchayath President Katapadi Shankara Poojary.

 

 

Speaking on the occasion Shankara Poojary called upon the farmers to take advantage of the financial assistance provided by the Agricultural Department and improvise the financial status and also asked them to make use of the opportunity of the new program Suvarna Bhumi.

 

The five deserving farmers Padmakka Shetty of Kalathur Grama, Padma Poojarty of Yenagudde Grama, Ramachandra Nayak of Bommarabetty Grama, Jalaja Shetty of Anjaru Grama and Ganapathi Prabhu of Alevoor Grama received the Tillers.

 

In the same program under the sub project of Girijana Upayoga, Thunthuru Watering Unit was handed over to Ravindranatha Nayak of Anjaru Grama, by Jilla Panchayath President Katapadi Shankara Poojary. Perduru Jilla Panchayath Member Gopi K. Nayak, Agricultural Joint Director B. Y. Srinivas, Deputy Director of Agriculture and Udupi Taluk Expansion staff were present on the occasion.
