Doha: Qatar Pamboorians in camaraderie meet

Doha, 03 May 2011: Since the first meet nearly a year ago, the Qatar Pamboorians have evolved into an active community with a mission. Their past gatherings have coincided with our festivals, which provided opportunities to partake in community meals, small talk, banter, singing, dancing, sharing jokes and having a good time together. For those living on bachelor status and working under stressful environment, it helps to have such occasions to share their time and feel at home in the absence of their spouses and children. This week’s get together revived the camaraderie even as they formally exchanged Easter season’s greetings to each other.

 

The parishioners noted with satisfaction the creativity and hard work that has gone into the Easter Edition of "Khursacho Taalo". The Editor, Mrs Noronha, was singled out for praise. Some of the jokes were recited which helped the community to build up the convivial mood. Vallu, Wilson and others kept them laughing from ear to ear. The next edition will see their talented contributions.

 

 

Dorothy recalled the successful conclusion of activities such as financial assistance extended to Manasa, the co-sponsoring of Medical Camp in Pamboor, and the sponsoring of Christmas Edition of Khursacho Taalo. She held up for everyone to view the memento awarded to Qatar Pamboorians in commemoration of their service.

 

 

After the customary evening prayers and thanksgiving to the Risen Lord for all His blessings, children very enthusiastically came forward to play fun games and showed their speed, imagination, sharp presence of mind and intelligence. They won not only appreciation from admiring adults but prizes too.

 

 

 

 

An elaborate cake cutting ceremony was held with children gatehring round and singing a hymn.

 

 

Needless to say, the evening ended with festive dinner served from kitchens of Qatar Pamboorian Families. As they bid goodbye to each other, there was lot more than leftovers to carry home: a community spirit to love and be loved. To belong and to be cherished.

 

That is what being Christ like. To be Christian.
