Annual Parish Feast Celebrated with solemnity and devotion in St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle, 03 Jan 2018: The eagerly awaited annual parish feast was celebrated with solemnity and devotion by the parishioners of St. Lawrence Church, Moodubelle on Wednesday, 3 January 2018 at 10 am.

 

Fr. Joseph Martis, Rector of St. Joseph’s Seminary, Mangalore was the chief celebrant of the solemn feast mass. Besides Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Parish Priest and Fr. Lawrence Cutinha, Assistant Parish Priest of Moodubelle, Fr. Valerian Mendonca, Dean of Udupi Deanery and Chancellor of Udupi Diocese and a number of guest priests concelebrated the feast mass. 

 

Fr. Joseph Martis in his homily said that it is futile to amass material wealth in this world as it is not permanent and would not give lasting satisfaction. By giving examples from the lives of saints, especially recalling the life and martyrdom of St. Lawrence, Fr. Joseph Martis stressed upon the need to gather spiritual wealth that would be everlasting.

 

 

At the end of the solemn feast mass, Fr. Clement Mascarenhas conveyed the greetings of the annual feast to the parishioners and expressed gratitude to all those who had helped in conducting all the events associated with the annual parish feast.

 

Candles of honour were distributed to the mud-dhoms and sponsors of the annual parish feast.

 

Fr. Valerian Mendonca, Dean of Udupi Deanery conveyed the greetings of the feast to all the parishioners and expressed hope that the major project of the Community Hall undertaken by the parish would see its successful completion.
