Udupi/M’Belle: Three days long Ganeshotsav commences with devotion at Geeta Mandir

Udupi/M’Belle: Three days long Ganeshotsav of Belle-Kattingeri village commenced with devotion and gaiety with the installation of the idol of Ganesh at Geeta Mandir near Belle Village Panchayat office at 12 noon on Friday, 25 August 2017 in the presence of the office bearers and devotees. The festivities along with poojas and cultural programmes are spread over three days.
On 25 August competitions such as drawing pictures of Shri Ganesh and fancy dress as well as devotional songs are scheduled. Besides, these competitions, local talent will present dances. In the night at 8.30 pm child artists from Shri Lakshmi Janardhana Yakshagana Kala Mandali, Ambalpadi, Udupi will enact ’Babruvahana Kalaga’.
On 26 August, besides the usual poojas, community meal (Mahaannasantarpane) sponsored by Melpete Friends will be served from 12 noon. In the evening at 9 pm Tulu social lay ‘Kuda Onjaka’ (Be United) will be staged by Sneha Kalavider Punacha.
On 27 August, after the special poojas the idol of Shri Ganesh will be taken in procession for immersion at 5 pm and at 8 pm the idol will be immersed in a pond at Thirlapalke.
The office bearers of 38th Sarvajanika Shri Ganeshotsava are: Honorary Presidents-P.D. Kamat, Nagaraj Kamat and Devdas Hebbar; Presdient-Varadaraj Kamat; Secretary-Sudhakar Poojary; Treasurer-Raajendra Shetty; Chief Priest-Vedamoorthy Shri Ganesh Bhat.
