Wednesday, 13 April 2011: The fourth edition of the world’s richest cricket tournament Indian Premier League (IPL) scheduled between April 8-May 28 comprises of 10 teams and 74 matches. Cheerleaders entertain the crowd during the IPL matches. The presence of the Cheerleaders, Bollywood celebs and the team owners spice up IPL.

While some may argue on the contrary, most of the dance moves of the girls in the T20 event look dated. Not that they can possibly do much within the constrained space of their stage and the sensibilities of the local culture

 

There is the small element of having a drummer set the stadium on fire with his beats or the bhangra taking control in an IPL. The cheerleaders do attract a lot of attention as they get the crowd dancing around them

These cheerleaders bring glamour into the game. Each team have a different music and dance by the cheer leaders. They perform for each boundary and wicket. Many spectators join them too.

Cheerleaders have become integral part of IPL. Though Bollywood and other celebraties are involved in IPL for various reasons, it is good for cricket and IPL. Besides, this has created more employment too, especially to the ex cricketers in the form of coaches etc.
