Concretization work of the Kurkalu-Naik Thota Road inaugurated

Moodubelle, 29 March 2011: The concretization work of the two kilometer long  Kurkalu-Naik Thota Road was inaugurated on Tuesday, 29 March 2011 at 10 am by Kaup MLA, Lalaji R. Mendon along with other dignitaries and local leaders and villagers. Prior to the inauguration, Shri Shirish Bhat, a preist from Shri Durga Parameshwari temple, Kunjarugiri conducted the ‘Guddhali Puje’.

 

The concretization work that  is being  undertaken initially for a length of 500 meters, is being done by the Gramabhivruddhi Panchayat Raj Department.

 

 

Besides Lalaji R. Mendon, the ‘Guddhali Puje’ programme was attended by  Mrs. Akkani, president of the Kurkalu Grama Panchayat, Mrs. Ida Gibba D’Souza, Udupi Zilla Panchayat Member, Gerald Fernandes, former member of the Zilla Panchayat, Shashidhar Salmara, vice president of the Kurkalu Grama Panchayat, Somayya Karkera and Shivarama Shetty, former presidents of the Kurkalu Grama Panchayat, Vijaya Shetty and Vijaya Kanchan, members of the panchayat, and local leaders-Vitthal Karkera, Kurkalu Beedu Ratnakar Shetty and Paul Pereira.

 

Once completed, the Kurkalu-Naik Thota Road will facilitate the transport between Katapadi,Kurkalu and Manipura.
