Mangalore: Website for Konkani literature launched
Media release
Mangalore, 09 February 2011: A website for Konkani literature has been launched in the city on Saturday.
Called www.Kittall.com, the Konkani literary website has different sections — main story, short story, poems, humour, interviews with writers and artists, book reviews, music and art. It publishes special reports of Konkani events and news related to Konkani literature, art and music.
“Kittall”, means spark, and it is aimed at providing quality literature and ushering in a social change. The website would give preference to unpublished Konkani work, and give priority to writings on change in society. It will be coordinated by Konkani writer and critic Henry Mendonca, Pernal (H.M. Pernal). It will provide a platform for writers, thinkers, poets, critics, and the general public to express their views and comments.
The website is built with unicode technology and can be viewed without any font downloads, said a release.
