Mumbai: Ryan Christian School, Borivali (West) observes Environment Week

Mumbai, 19 Jul 2015: The students of Ryan Christian School, Borivali (West) here celebrated Environment Week through various competitions such as poster making, slogan writing, globe making and many more.
In the weeklong Environment Day celebration students made exquisite handicraft items using waste products and made paper bags using newspapers to be exchanged for plastic bags.
The esteemed guests: Dr J B Jacob, Dr S Mathew and Narendra Gonbare were in all praise for the school for creating environmental awareness in every child in concurrence with the vision of the founder chairman of the school Dr A F Pinto, a recipient of India Gandhi Pariyavaran Puraskar and Grace Pinto, managing director of the School, one of the nine Jewels of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The weeklong celebration was wrapped up with a special assembly which began with the Bible reading and prayer songs. The school choir regaled the audience on Plant a Tree song accompanied with dance of students who were dressed like trees.
A special Environment Song was sung by the school choir which laid emphasis on God’s creation and our responsibility to care and protect it. The guests planted saplings in Grace Garden of the school.
The winners of Poster making, slogan writing, elocution competition and ‘Best out of Waste’ were felicitated.
