Catechism Day observed in St. Antony’s Church, Kuntalnagar

Udupi, 03 Mar 2015: The annual Catechism Day was observed in St. Antony’s Church, Kuntalnagar on Sunday, 1 March 2015 during the 8 am mass. Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Secretary of Catholic Education Society, Udupi (CESU) concelebrated the holy mass along with Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, PRO of Udupi Diocese who is also the parish priest of Kuntalnagar and Rev. Fr. Edwin D’Souza, Director of Youth Mission, Udupi Diocese.
Soon after the mass, Catechism students of different classes presented cultural programme comprising of a skit based on the parable of ‘Good Samaritan’ from the New Testament. They also presented a dance.
Prizes for Catechism students who stood first, second and third in their respective classes in the Catechism examinations were given away prizes by Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa and Vice President of the Parish pastoral Council Valerian Mathias. Prizes were also given to those students who had remained present for all the Catechism classes throughout the year.
Catechism teachers were also honoured during the occasion by giving them gifts. Ms. Viola Mathais compeered the programme.

Congratulations to the Prish priest of Kuntalgiri Church!!! for having organized dances on the alter of the church, which is considered to be sacred. So by utilizing the ALTER as a stage, in future no parishes will require a separate hall to entertain the parishiners...which in turn will save a lot of money to build halls.!! |
