Moodbidri, 12 Jan 2015: The renowned musicians presented melodious music during Alvas Virasat at Vidhyagiri, here on Sunday January 11.
Vidwan Pramath Kiran, the renowned percussionist of national fame, Vidwan K U Jayachandra Rao and young percussionist Vidwan Giridar Udupaand Prasanna presented scintillating music to a large number of audiences at the venue.
Vidwan Pramath Kiran a well known percussionist from India. He learnt tabala under the great tabala mastero Pandith Uday Raj Kapoor and later was trained by Vidwan Anoor Anantha Krishna Sharma who blessed him with the art of playing morcing in traditional Carnatic style. Besides, many awards he was honored with the prestigious Carnatic Music Association of North America award.
Vidwan K U Jayachandra Rao, an expressive artiste who has dedicated his life to the world of rhythm. He has received many awards. And at present he is performing regularly as a graded artiste for All India Radio.
Vidwan Giridar Udupa is one of the excellent musicians in the world of rhythm, thumping into the musical world at a very tender age of 4, Udupa has been mesmerizing the audience with his immaculate style and innate creativity. He has been felicitated with many awards such as Carnatic Music Association of North America Award 2007, Aryabhata Award and many more.
Prasanna is one of the leading young percussion artists of India. He plays Khanjira - the single handed frame drum, and a percussion instrument used in the South Indian classical music. He is popularly known with his tittle ‘Khanjira Praveena.’ He has won Best Khanjira Artistes Award, Carnatic Music Asociation of North America Award and many more.
