Mangaluru: Chalipolilu, Tulu movie creates sensation in undivided DK district

Mangaluru, 04 Nov 2014: Chalipolilu, fifty-second Tulu movie in the history of 43 years has been successfully running in theaters in the undivided Dakshina Kannada district. It’s also surging in earning. The initial success is likely to surpass the records of all past Tulu movies.

 
Tulu movies were screened in a lone theater at Jyoti in Mangalore and another theater at Udupi in the past. The movies were screened at Udupi once it was premiered at Jyoti Talkies in Mangalore. However, the situation is not so, because there are several movie theaters in Mangalore.

 
Chalipolilu, Tulu movie is being screened in 4 theaters in Mangalore city and already completed 17 shows already. The movie has been screened in 10 theaters simultaneously for the benefit of viewers in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

 
Radhika theater that is located in the rural area of fast developing Karkal taluk was never been houseful for Tulu movies. Chalipolilu proved it wrong because its running houseful.

 

 

The people form Ujire and Dharmasthala are arriving in groups to view the movie Chalipolilu in talkies at Beltangady town, where the tickets sold in security of policemen. The shows at Nakshatra theater in B C Road, Bantwal is well booked in advance and the people who wait in queues get no tickets for the show. The fights are normal that is the sensation Chalipolilu created. Amarashree theater located in Moodbidri town faces the traffic snarls since 4 days. It’s because the rural folks arrive in large number to view Tulu movie Chalipolilu.

 
Kalpana theater in Udupi has never seen such rush for Tulu movie so far. The people from Malpe, Manipal, Hiriyadka, Brahmavar and Kundapur are waiting in queues for the tickets. Krishnappa Uppoor, the director of Tulu movies Maribale and Mahanadi says, ’I have viewed Tulu movies in theater at Udupi, but I have never seen such a rush. I never realized till the movie got over.’

 
The success of Chalipolilu has proved that the people liken the movie that was made as per their interests. Prakash Pandeshwar has experimented by introducing theater artistes in the movie. Tulu filmdom has been stunned by the response of movie lovers.

 
Movie producer Pandeshwar is new to movies Chalipolilu, movie producer Prakash Pandeshwar is new to movies who are a vivid viewer of different movies. He used to view better movies including Tulu, Kannada, Tamil, English, Malayalam and Telugu. He had clear idea of viewer’s interest and accordingly produced the movie for Tulu viewers and found success.

Although Prakash was newcomer to movies, he has appointed Utpal Nayanar, most experienced cameraman of Malayalam filmdom in shooting the movie Chalipolilu. Utpal is a busy and disciple person, who worked with Malayalam stars Mammutti Mohanlal and Jayaram. The expertise of Utpal in shooting the movie is evident in Chalipolilu.

The movie producer of Chalipolilu no where mentioned that the movie has been produced with a few crore. Despite this, Prakash has found success in all his attempts in dishing out the interests of viewers in the movie.

 
The emphasis is laid on humanity. The scene of fish monger Nazeer struggling to pool money for the treatment of his mother and donating his blood is the personification of humanity.
