Moodubelle: Children’s Day celebrated in St. Lawrence Composite PU College

Moodubelle, 15 November 2010: The Children’s Day was celebrated with great fanfare in St. Lawrence Composite PU College, Moodubelle on Saturday, 13 November 2010 from 9.30 am. The programme started with prayer followed by funny games for boys and girls.
Before the stage programme in the PU College hall, students presented individual fancy dress as part of the competition for the annual day. The students, both of high school and PU College presented excellent cameos.
As it was the Children’s Day, the chief guest of the day for the stage programme was Jenita Martis of 8th B Standard. Besides Janita Martis, fr. Paul Sequeira, principal of St. Lawrence Composite PU College, Charles Quadros, President of the Parents-Teachers Association-Mrs. Shilpa Nayak, CPL-Deeksha, SPL-Vinaya and the leaders of the Sardarji Squad-Rahul and Levin Saldanha were on the dais.
The entire programme was compeered by Vinod D’Souza. David Carlo of First Year PUC Science welcomed the guests.
In the beginning of the programme, Fr. Paul Sequeira and other guests offered floral tribute in front of the picture of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of India and on whose birth anniversary the Children’s day has been observed every year on 14 November.
Student speakers expressed their views on the occasion of the Children’s Day and explained hte significance of celebrating the Children’s’ day.
The winners in the fun game and the fancy dress competition were given prizes by the guests. Rolson of First Year Arts proposed the vote of thanks.
Every years the Children’s Day programme has been sponsored in the memory of Late Mathais and late Angeline Quadros by their children. The sweets for the day were sponsored by Cable Operator-Ratnakara Belle.
