First Charles Nite enthralls the audience of Borivli

Mumbai, 09 November 2010: A maiden "Charles Nite" enthralled the packed audiance of Borivli that was held at St. Francis Institute of Management and Research hall on 5th November. The show was organised by Canara Konkani Association, Borivli. Well known theater artist Francis Fernandes Cascia was honoured during this occasion.

 

Fr. Franklin Mathias, Fr. Leo DSouza, Fr. Nelson Saldanha, Clement Lobo and Ancy Paladka were the guest for the programme. Founder president of the association Mr. George D’Souza accompanied all the guest to the dias. Veronica Noronha read the citation. Fr. Franklin Mathias and other guests honoured Francis with the Shawl, citation, momento, flowers and fruits.

 

The programme was started with a prayer dance. Charles D’Cunha made first entry to the stage with all his artist with a welcome song. Ivan Sequiera sang a tribute song to Late Wilfy Rebimbus. The other songs presented during this show were ’Jivit Monsheachem’ by Charles and Denis Gonsalves, Konknni Uloi by Dorin Pinto and Rubina Furtado. ’Maria’ song was presented by Charles, Ivan and Antony Tauro. ’Kallzacho Rai’ song was presented by Doreen. ’Gorbacho Tallo’ song was presented by Ivan. ’Bottler’ song presented by Charles and Dorin.

 

’Sushmita’ song was presented by Antony. ’To Dis’ song was presented by Charles and Ivan. Adkulo Budkulo song was presented by Antony, Dorin and Rubina. ’Reena’ song was presented by Charles and Denis. Mansugi song was presented by Charles. Finally the entire troupe sang the song ’Happy Deepavali’. Clinton D’Cunha, Cliana D’Cunha and Lonita Lobo also joined the chorus.

 

 

Kenny Zuzarte mesmerized with his popular songs ’Kurlyo’ and ’Taka Taka Dum’. Jerry Rasquinha and Joseph Pinto presented hilarious jokes.

 

Kezia Noronha, Nikita Pinto, Preetika Quadros, Veronica Noronha, Linet Noronha, Nirmala Noronha and Gracy Gonsalves presented attractive dances. The instrumentals were provided by "Day Breakers". Joe Louis (lead guitar), Manuel (key board), Cajitan (base) and Marshal (drum) played to the beats.

 

Well known Konkani personality Clament Lobo compered the programme. Veronica Noronha compered the stage programme and gave vote of thanks at the end.
