Mangalore: CAFS Celebrates Onam with high fervor

Mangalore, 3 Sep 2014: The staff of Casino Air Caterers and Flight Services (CAFS), the exclusive in-flight catering unit at Kenjar, near Mangalore International Airport (MIA) celebrated Onam Sadya at their catering unit, here on Tuesday September 2.
Onam is the biggest festival of Kerala, which falls in the month of Chingam (August - September) and marks the homecoming of legendary king Mahabali. The festival is celebrated for several days with cultural and traditional festivities.
MIA director J T Radhakrishna graced the occasion with high ranking officials from Airport Authority of India (AAI) from Mangalore International Airport.
Radhakrishan after cutting the cake said that he is very happy about the CAFS catering unit which is providing international standard catering to flights, which is situated within the closest proximity to airport, with minimum delivery time, which keeps the food fresh for the passengers. This was an long standing requirement of facility which is good for the development of airport and for the airlines.
The high ranking customs officials also present on the occasion.
CAFS executive chef Abrham along with his team of chefs prepared various items such as Thoran, Avial, Kuttu Curry, Parippu, Kalan, Sambar, Kichdi, Pachdi, Inji puli, Wheat Payasam and Palada Payasam.
The staff of CAFS decorated the unit with traditional pookalam and various other beautiful decorations.
CAFS unit head Francis M Arnaha thanked all the guests for their participation and cordial support.
In the evening, the CAFS staff had much more fun fare and variety of entertainment programe, games, raffle draw followed by sumptuous dinner.
