Kundapur: Sandeepan High School, Kambadakone bags I Prize in Konkani Students Convention

Kundapur, Aug 27, 2014: Several Konkani literary sessions were held during Konkani students’ convention that was organized at the joint aegis of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy and Jai Konkani here on Sunday August 25.

 

Sandeepan English Medium High School, Kambadakone, near here bagged the first prize in Konkani cultural competitions held as part of the convention.

 

 

Venkataramana English Medium High School, here bagged the second prize.

 

S V High School, Gangolli, near here and St Mary’s College, here shared the third prize.  

 

R N Shetty PU College, here bagged the first prize, while Kundapur PU College High School bagged the special prize.

 

Dharani Mandala Madyadolage, dance recital that was staged by the students of Sandeepan English Medium High School was the hit among the audiences.  The playwright and litterateur Bernard J D Costa, Ganapati Sipoy and Ashok Shet were the jurors.

 

The veteran social activist Dattanand Gangolli, K Laxminarayan Shenoy, G Sitaram Madival, Prakash Nayak, Ravikiran Murdeshwar, Pandurang Shenoy, Ravindra Shanbagh, Jai Konkani chairman U S Shenoy, secretary P Jayavant Pai distributed the prizes to the winners.
