Mumbai Suburban District honors 4 Women Personalities on I -Day

Mumbai, 20 Aug 2014: The guardian minister MLA Mohammed Arif Naseem Khan hoisted the tri-color flag and witnessed a grand parade marked by Mumbai police on sixty-eight Independence Day celebrations held at Collector’s office, Mumbai suburban district, Bandra (East) here on Friday August 15.
The minister Naseem Khan confered Punyaslok Ahilyadevi Holkar Jilha Staliya Puraskar to 4 noted women personalities of Mumbai on the same occasion.
The award for the year 2011-12 was conferred on Parvati Dargunde and Madhuri Singh.
The award for the year 2012-13 was conferred on Sr Seema, founder of Jagruti Kendra, a NGO of St Jude’s Church, Jerimeri, Andheri (East) and Reena Patil of Powai, Andheri (East).
The award comprised Rs 10,001 cash, mementoes, citation letter and public honor.
The minister Naseem Khan praised and congratulated all 4 women for fighting for the rights of women and also striving for justice and peace through their hard work.
These awards were recommended by Gokul V Deore, district officer of women and child development, Mumbai suburban district.
