Udupi, 10 January 2011: Tulu film “Kanchilda Baale” shot in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts will hit cinemas in March.
Addressing presspersons here on Saturday, producer and director Kumbra Raghunath Rai said that the film would be released simultaneously in Udupi, Mangalore and Puttur.

This was the third film from his Kalalabhairava Creations. The Board of Censor Certification had granted “U” (universal) certificate for the film, he said. The film dealt with a social theme.
The story revolved around the “Bhootaradhane” ritual of Tulunadu in a family following matrilineal system.
It portrayed a clash between traditional values and superstition.
The film was shot at Vandar Kamblagadde Mane at Barkur, Heritage Village in Manipal, and Kundapur, Udupi and Bidadi, he said.
The main character in the film is played by child actor Charitra Hegde.
The former MLA Shakuntala Shetty too has a notable role.
The other actors are Pradeep Chandra, D.S. Boloor, Manasi, Sudhir Raj K., Raghuraj, Ravi Hosur, Harini Karkala, Mahabala Shettigar, Muthappa Rai, Rekha M. Rai, Naveen D. Padil, Arvind Bolar and Saikrishna.
