Mangalore, 03 November 2010: In an abrupt decision, the state government of Karnataka on Tuesday revoked the transfer order of four IAS officer including V Ponnuraj, who was recently transferred to Shimoga from Dakshina Kannada.
According to the new order Pankaj Kumar Pandey, who was replaced by Ponnuraj as the Deputy Commissioner of Shimoga district will continue as DC of Shimoga. However, it is not clear from the new order whether Ponnuraj will once again be posted as DC of DK district, where he had earned much name and fame. In its new order, the government did not mention whether Subodh Yadav, who recently took charge as the DC of DK will continue in his new position or will be sent back to his former position.
Along with four IAS officers the transfer order of a KAS officer was also revoked. P Shivshankar, who was transferred from Dakshina Kannada last week and posted as the Chief Executive Officer of Shimoga Zilla Panchayat, will continue as the CEO of DK Zilla Panchayat.
Meanwhile, AB Ibrahim who was expected to take charge as the Commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation has been transferred to Mysore and posted as the Chief Administrative Officer of Cauvery Irrigation Corporation. At the same time KN Vijayaprakash, who was supposed to take charge as the new CEO of DK ZP, will continue as the Commissioner of MCC.
