Udupi: The Department of Commerce at Milagres College, Kallianpur, organized a comprehensive Investment Awareness Program on April 4, 2025, at the Silver Jubilee Hall. The program featured Mr. Leo Amal A, Senior Branch Manager of Franklin Templeton, Asset Management (India) Pvt. Ltd., Mangalore, as the esteemed resource person. Mr. Amal provided an in-depth introduction to mutual funds, elaborating on their functions and workings. He also delved into the concepts of debt and equity investment, illustrating his points with relevant examples.

 

The formal program commenced with the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including Mrs. Sophia Dias, Vice Principal, Mrs. Shylet Mathias, IQAC Coordinator, and Mrs. Sushma Shetty, Dean of Computer Application, on the stage. The forenoon session catered to all B.Com students, while the afternoon session was conducted for BCA and BA students. Both sessions were highly interactive, with students engaging in discussions about various investment avenues, accompanied by suitable examples.

The program was well-attended by Mr. Ravinandan Bhat, PRO, and all teaching and non-teaching staff members. The Investment Awareness Program was a resounding success, providing students with valuable insights into the world of investments and empowering them to make informed financial decisions.
