*Discrimination against cinema in multiplexes
The film, which has entered its third successful week, is being treated unfairly in multiplexes. Kannada films are given 50 percent in the first week, 47.5 percent in the second week and 45 percent in the third week in multiplexes. But the regional language Tulu is given 50 percent in the first week, 40 percent in the second week and only 30 percent from the third week. This is an injustice to Tulu films. Earlier, only Tulu’s Circus film was given the same percentage as Kannada.
Even though the big-budget Tulu film Middle Class Family is showing a full house, the producers are only getting thirty percent. Middle Class Family, which was made on a crore budget, has suffered a big blow in terms of percentage.
Middle Class Family tried to attract the audience by showing one show each in Mangalore, Suratkal and Udupi for free on Sunday.
