Mangaluru: Under a special program to encourage Yakshagana by the Mangaluru Municipal Corporation, the Yakshagana training classes are being conducted across the state to teach our coastal male art Yakshagana free of cost in government schools. The Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation has announced an incentive of Rs. 10.00 lakhs in the 2024-25 budget under the Yakshaganaam Vishwaganam scheme.
Mayor Manoj Kumar handed it over to the trustees through Ravi Shetty Ashoknagar, Joint Secretary of the Central Committee of the Patla Foundation.
On this occasion, Deputy Mayor of the Mahagara Palika Bhanumathi, Chief Whip Premanand Shetty, Opposition Leader Anil Kumar, various standing committee chairmen Manohar Shetty, Sumitra Kariya, Sarita Shashidhar, Veena Mangala and former Mayor Shashidhar Hegde were present.
Patla Satish Shetty, the founder president of Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation, and all the central and regional units congratulated Corporator Kadri Manohar Shetty, the mayor, former mayors, all corporators of the ruling and opposition parties for their special response in providing this grant to Patla Foundation.
