Udupi: Maryknoll Higher Primary School, Hosala Barkur, marked Children’s Day on 14th November 2024 with vibrant celebrations to honour the legacy of Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister. The event began with an inspiring speech on the life and contributions of Pundit Nehru, by class leaders highlighting his love for children and his vision for India’s future. Headmistress Mrs Joyce Vandan DSa summed up the talks and conveyed ‘Children’s Day’ best wishes to all the students, who were served with sweets and gifts.
The day was filled with joy and excitement as students showcased a variety of class-wise cultural and entertainment activities. These included captivating dance performances, heartfelt songs, and thought-provoking skits, all performed with remarkable energy and creativity.
Adding to the festivities, the teachers also took the stage, performing delightful songs and dances, much to the delight of the students. Their participation created a warm and joyful atmosphere, emphasizing the special bond between teachers and their students.
The celebration was a memorable one, reflecting the spirit of Children’s Day and the cherished values of Pundit Nehru.
