Mumbai, (RBI), No.14: Gopalakrishna Public Trust and B.S. K. B. In collaboration with the Association, Tulsi Puja was celebrated with great pomp from Kartika Masa Shukla Paksha Bali Pratipada to Utthanadwadashi. From Saturday 2.11.2024 to Tuesday 12.11.2024 from 5 pm, the cultural festival was organized by Gokula Bhajan Board and Gokula Cultural Education Center with various cultural programs such as Harinama Sankeertana, Bharatanatyam, Taala Vadya Office, Saxophone playing etc. Then there was Tulsi Puja and Tulsi Sankirtana by the priestly class of Gokula and various Maths.
On Wednesday (November 13), the day of the wedding of the holy Shri Krishna Tulsi, which is very dear to Shri Hari and of legendary importance, on Utthana Dwadashi Parvakala, in the morning of We.Moo. Daregudde Srinivas Bhat with the help of priest Akshay Ballal decorated the divine idol of Lord Gopalakrishna beautifully and performed Tulsi Puja, Sankirtana etc.
In the evening, in the decorated Tulsi Vrindavan, the statue of Tulsi Devi was decorated very beautifully by Shalini Udupara. After the night worship at Shri Gopalakrishna Temple, the glorious Shri Krishna Tulsi Wedding, Ksheerabdhi Mahotsav was celebrated by the then President Dr. Daregudde Srinivas Bhatt performed traditionally under the patronage of Suresh S. Rao and Mrs. Vijayalakshmi. Then the religious program concluded with tulsi sankirtana, distribution of teertha-prasad, light breakfast.
Ashish Devadiga played saxophone as part of the cultural programme. Padmaraj assisted in the accompaniment. Later a devotional concert was performed by the Vidushi Maithili Rao troupe. He was joined by Jyotsna Punganur and Sayli Nayak as co-vocalists. Accompanied by Siddhartha Maestra on harmonium and Siddharth Padiyar on tabla. . Dr Suresh S Rao and Vijayalakshmi Suresh Rao felicitated the artists by draping them with shawls. The program was narrated by Prema Rao.
In the grandly celebrated Shree Krishna Tulsi Kalyanotsav, members of the Board of Trustees of Gopalakrishna Public Trust, members of the Religious Committee, B.S. K. B. Hundreds of devotees were present along with association office bearers and executive committee members.
