Bantwala, 22 July 2024: On behalf of the Department of Agriculture, Bantwala MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippadiguthu MLA Rajesh Naik started the 5th year mechanized paddy planting in the Chendinagadde of Polali Sri Rajarajeshwari Temple in about 2.50 acres.
Speaking later, he said that 95,000 was saved for the temple through the cultivation done last time, and its grass was useful to many local farmers. He said that making a profit of Rs 80 thousand per hectare from paddy cultivation is really a good income, which indicates that paddy cultivation is a profitable agriculture, which will encourage more paddy farming activities.
Joint Director of Agriculture Kempe Gowda said that for the last three years, under the guidance of MLA Rajesh Naik, we have been carrying out planting programs through machinery, in cooperation with associations and organizations, we are giving sowing seeds to cultivate paddy fields in front of schools and colleges through the campaign. In this part, the demand for red rice, Jaya, Red Mukti, Jyoti seeds will be given to the farmers for sowing by the Agriculture Department. There are 1,510 acres of paddy cultivation in Bantwala where the farmers do full cultivation. There are 9,300 acres of paddy cultivation in Dakshina Kannada, he said, and the agriculture department is providing sowing seeds.
