Udupi, 26 Mar 2024: Milagres College’s National Service Scheme (NSS) along with IQAC took the initiative to organize a mime on drug awareness and a short play on voter awareness on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, under its familiar and popular trademark ‘Mango Tree’….!
The mime mainly emphasized the ill effects of taking a person’s life due to drug use and the skit highlighted the importance of voting as it is the responsibility of every citizen, to vote and elect the right candidate for our state as our representative in Parliament, State Legislature, Village Panchayat etc, as it is our fundamental right, to each and every citizen, guaranteed by the Indian Constitution.
The outcome of the both the programs were very successful in voting awareness and the effects of drugs on humans. The Dr Vincent Alva Principal of the College gave an appropriate and effective message that all eligible especially youth should vote for honest, qualified and educated candidates who work for the welfare of the state, society and especially the students must be vigilant and careful not to be carried away by emotions or being fooled by the irregularities that normally happen during the elections.
College Principal, Dr Vincent Alva, NSS Officers Mrs. Anupama Jogi and Prof Ganesh Nayak, IQAC Convener Dr. Jayaram Shettigar, Prof Anil Danti, Public Relations Officer (PRO) Ravinandan Bhat and all the faculty members of the College as well as NSS volunteers and other students were present.
