Udupi Sarvajanik Shri Ganeshotsava Committee, Kadiyal to organize ‘Udupi Dandiya 2023’ on October 21

Udupi, 19 Oct 2023: Udupi Sarvajanik Shri Ganeshotsava Committee, Kadiyali  under the leadership of Mahila team to organize “Udupi Dandiya 2023” on October 23 at 6pm onwards at MGM College ground, said K Raghavendra Kini, General Secretary of Udupi Sarvajanik Shri Ganeshotsava committee, Udupi.

 

Addressing a press meet held at Udupi Press Club here on Wednesday, K Ragavendra Kini said that since 5 years, the committee organizing the Dandiya programme successfully. The committee organizing the Gujarat type traditional Garbha Dandiya dances in order to support the women at large. This time on sixth year we organizing very grand atmosphere with participating around more than 6000 people which last year around 5000 people participated, he said.

 

 

Kini said that during the programme, the Special Food Mela also to be organized on the MGM College ground. In this Dandiya programme, prizes will be given for the best Dancer (Male and Female), Best Costume for male and female, Best Couple and for attractive Costume for female. Prizes also to be given to best Costume and Best dancer for below 10 children.

 

The Dandiya dance programme will be inaugurated by Shobha Karandlje, Union Minister, Laxmi Hebbalkar, District-in charge minister, Udupi Deputy Commissioner Dr Vidya Kumari and Additional Deputy Commissioner  Mamatha Devi. The chief guests to be present are Smt Sandya S Kamath of Abharan Jewellers, Smt Jayalaxmi V Hegde and Aparna R Hegde of Jayalaxmi Silks, Smt. Suvarsha, President of POWER organization.
