Mangaluru, 21 Sep 2022: ‘Modern libraries play a vital role in the academic progress of any institution. The library at Govt. First Grade College for Women, Balmatta, here is now fully automated and has been upgraded to an International Standard through E-Library,’ said Venkatesha, senior librarian of MPM Government First Grade College, Karkala in his address to the audience.
He also spoke about how the National Informatics Centre, New Delhi has simplified library management through E-granthalaya.
Prof Jagadisha Bala, principal, inaugurated the E-Granthalaya and opined that library automation is the need of the hour as it provides a paradigm shift to the entire library activities with the application of Computer Technology.
Venkatesha, the resource person, conducted the Hands on Training Programme for the faculty and explained the various services available in e-granthalaya.
Dr Shailarani, senior librarian, delivered the introductory remarks. Bhavya Shree compered the programme. Dr Chandrashekar K proposed the vote of thanks.
