Udupi/M’Belle, 02 Dec 2021: “Though the use of tobacco seems to be attractive and pleasurable in the beginning, its adverse effects will be felt in the long run. Tobacco free life is a life of happiness and peace. It is important to take appropriate steps in avoiding the use of tobacco,” said Dr. Ravindra Borkar, Health Officer of Pernankila Primary Health Centre while speaking as the resource person to the students of St. Lawrence PU College, Moodubelle on the occasion of National Tobacco Control Programme jointly organized by Anvaya Jilla Sarveskhsana Unit and NSS Unit of St. Lawrence PU College.
Principal Edward Larsen D’Souza presided over the programme. NSS Prograamme Officer Mrs Jacintha Natalia Lobo welcomed the gathering, Physical Director Joseph D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks and History lecturer Naveen Correa compeered the programme.
NSS student leaders Shanvin and Dhanalakshmi, Sr. Rajeevi of the Pernankila Primary Health centre, teaching and non-teaching staff of St. Lawrence PU College were present.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of competitions organized on this occasion.
