Udupi/M’Belle, 07 Oct 2021: “Everyone should feel proud about his or her mother tongue. Languages have the power to unite us. By reading books, not only we increase our knowledge but also help in the growth of the language”, said Manohar Kamath, President of Mangalore Konkani Sahitya Academy while speaking at the function as the president at the Exhibition of Konakni Books in St. Lawrence PU College hall on Tuesday, 5 October 2021 jointly organized by St. Lawrence PU College and Karnataka Sahitya Academy, Mangalore.
The Exhibition of Konakni Books was inaugurated by Konkani satire writer Joseph Quadros.
Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council-Gerald Fernandes, Local businessman Mukunda Kamath and Headmistress of St. Lawrence Kannada Medium High School Mrs. Sunitha Kamath were on the dais.
Edward Larsen D’Souza-Principal of St. Lawrence PU College welcomed the gathering. Joseph D’Souza-Physical Director proposed the vote of thanks and Robert Meenzes-Konkani teacher compeered the programme.
Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy President Jagdish pai presided over the valedictory programme held in the evening. Fr. George D’Souza- Correspondent of St. Lawrence Educational Institutions delivered the valedictory address.
Students, staff members and public participated in the exhibition of Konkani books.
