Mangaluru, 06 Jan 2018: The old municipal market at Kudroli-Alake locality will get a new building. The works are underway to complete it at the earliest. The old market building was dilapidated and it was strenuous for people to buy their daily necessities. It was a long-pending demand of the local people to reconstruct the building. Its works are underway along with widening and concreting the main road of Kudroli, here.
Mangaluru south MLA J R Lobo viewed the ongoing works recently and said, ‘As the city is growing, markets are essential, that necessitated the construction of new market building.’
The work began at a cost of Rs 1 crore, with Rs 50 lac grants from CM’s Fund and Rs 50 lac form Enterprises Fund. The market will be boon for the people living in Kudroli, Alake, Bunder, Bokkapatna, Car Street and Mannagudda.
