Udupi, 10 Jun 2017: Ramadan is the holy month for Muslem brethrens. The preparations for the holy month begin 3 months ahead of Ramadan, by cleaning the house, setting aside food grains and other essentials to donate for the poor. The fasting and prayers are held as penance for eternal bliss, said Haji Sirajuddin Zaini, Khatib of Sunni Jamia masjid, Shirva, near here.
Zaini was speaking on the significance of Ramadan during Iftar Meet that was organized by Rotary Club - Shirva, at Rotary Auditorium, Bantakal, near Shirva, here, on Friday, June 9.
Rotary Club – Shirva president Dr Arun Hegde welcomed the gathering and presided the programme.
Rotary zonal assistant governor Dr Gururaj, Shirva – Sunni Jamia masjid president Haji Moideen Mohammed Maistry, Rotary designated president Hasanabba Shaikh was present at the dais.
Haji Meeran Abdul Khader, Abdul Latif, Ummer Saheb, Harshad H S, Hafraz H S were present.
Rotary Club member Rehmatulla Abdul Khader led the Iftar Meet.
