Bantwal, 28 May 2017: Curfew has been clamped till June 2, after a youngster was injured by knifing at Kalladka, near here, on Friday, May 26 afternoon.
Thirty-one-year-old Mohammed Bashir, son of Mohammed Hashir, resident of Kalladka, near here was injured by knifing, while Mohammed Mashooq was hit by a stone hurled by a group. Both are admitted in a private hospital at Thumbay, here and are out of danger.
Bantwla town police registered a case in this regard on 6 persons including Mitun Poojary.
Both Hashir and Mashooq were retuning home after offering prayers at masjid nearby, when the miscreants who arrived in a car tried to stab.
The police sources said that there are many cases booked on Mithun already.
As the tense situation prevailed, the shopkeepers in Kalladka shut down their shops to avoid ransacking by the angry mob.
SP Bhushan G Borase and DySP Ravish C R have visited the spot, while the security has been beefed up by assigning platoons of state reserve police. Bantwal rural sub-inspector Rakshit Gowda and town sub-inspector Nandakumar are heading the investigations.
