Bantwal, 25 Apr 2017: The police have recovered 2 motorcycles, 2 swords and clothes in a bushel, near Muguli, that lies near Karnataka – Kerala boundary, on Uppala Road, that was found a few kilometres away from Karopady, near here, where the assailants barbarously slain Karopady gram panchayat vice president Abdul Jaleel.
The passersby reported the find to the police, wherein 2 old motorcycles were dumped along with 2 swords, a few trousers and shirts at Muguli, near here. The police suspect it was an attempt to derail the probe as brand new motorcycles bearing black colours were involved in heinous crime. There are possibilities of involvement by bigwigs in this case, as the assailants are devising ways to hoodwink the police.
The police have confirmed the find is not related to Jaleel’s case and registered a case of lost and found items.
The special squad probing Jaleel’s case at the direction of Western Range IGP Harishekaran and SP Bhushan G Borase have already taken custody of 3 men. The police are probing the sensational broad daylight murder in every angle, as the region is marred with all sorts of crimes, from treasure hunt, property dispute, enmity within the party, controversy over issuing bar license, etc.
